The top endless-runner video game series for Win10
Windows 10 / Windows 8.1 / Windows 8
Temple Run: Oz is a new version of Temple Run that places players in the Wizard of Oz move universe.
This game takes the Temple Run formula and adds a bit of magic to the setting by co-opting the visuals from Oz. This creates a version of Temple Run that's just a little more beautiful than the old game, and that provides a sense of whimsy that was missing from the original release. There are a few new enhancers and some lovely graphical overlays, but the best thing about the game is that it doesn't mess with a tried-and-true formula. This game knows what it is and doesn't make much of an attempt to change.
Everything that's positive about this game is also a bit of a negative, especially when you consider that Temple Run was already fine as it was. There's not much value added by slapping an Oz skin on the game, and this version doesn't do much to differentiate itself from its predecessors. The Endless Runner genre is already an overcrowded market, and there's not a good reason to have two versions of what's essentially the same game. If you want a runner, this game is fine. If you want something that's actually different from Temple Run, though, you're going to have to look for another game.
If you like Temple Run or you love Oz, this is probably a good download. If you don't like either of those, there's absolutely no reason to pick up this game. There's nothing truly negative, but the game knows its fans and doesn't try to reach a broader audience. Sometimes, it's okay to have a game that understands exactly what it is and commits to its core premise.
